Your Words Matter

Post inspired by this video

You have the power to make or break someone's day. You have the power to make kids laugh, encourage young girls, and uplift your family members. You have more power than you think- and it's all in your words. You may not think you have much to say, but your words can make all the difference. Your words can convey love, patience, peace, compassion, encouragement, laughter,  and joy. Or they can convey jealousy, lies, hatred, judgment, doubt, and hurt.

Words matter. Your voice matters.

So spread love, not gossip! Reach out to that new girl, ask someone how they're doing, or how you can pray for them. Let your family and friends know how amazing they are! Encourage kids, leave sweet notes  for people, listen and speak words of compassion, and pray for those that are hurting.

Be intentional. Your words could make all the difference.

So stand up! Be different. Be that person that is known for their love and compassion for everyone. You may not think that you have a voice, or that your words have any effect what so ever on the people around you- but they do. We convey so much through our tone of voice, how we speak, and what we say.

I challenge you to slow down and really pay attention to what you say, and how you say it. Spread the love, not the hurt.

xoxo, em

  1. Love this;) Words do matter, as do kind actions. I work on this with my kids a lot, and strive to always say things that make them feel good about themselves.

  2. Wow love this!! You have a real talent for writing Em! So true.. words truly matter, yet we think of them so little these days! I'll definitely remember this, it really made me realise the impact we have on others with the words we say!! Thanks again for sharing!

  3. True, there's so much hate in the world and someone has to speak of love too.
