Friday Night Lights

The stillness of early mornings. Soft shades of blue, peaking through the window shades. The smell of coffee brewing. Dim lights, low voices, and the mews of kitty cats, wanting their breakfast.

Cozy sweatshirts. Winter boots lined with fur. Soft curls and pink lipgloss and mittens.

Babysitting adventures. The sweet sound of a baby's laughter. His happy delight over playing with my phone. Squealing at himself in the mirror. Feeding him spoonfuls of oatmeal while his big brown eyes twinkle merrily. Loving the happiness and innocence and mostly, that red hair.

Vegetarian Indian food for lunch. Pizza for dinner.

This girl is in a league all of her own. Such an inspiration.

So, so happy for this sweet lady.  Congrats Jess!!

More babysitting. Listening to One Republic. Playing with my two favorite little girls. Coloring books and stories and big imaginations. Retelling Little Red Riding Hood, complete with all of the actions, and none of us ever tiring of it.

Chit chatting with my bestie. So, so incredibly thankful for her. Sometimes we all just need that girl time to relax and catch up, and just talk.

Climbing into bed and realizing it's already the start of a new day. So tired that you don't even care if your hair is soaking and your feet are cold. Just burrowing down farther into the blankets and drifting off into dreamland.

Friday night lights. The day is done. Another week, another day, another hour passed.

xoxo, em
